About us

We focus on providing evidence-based therapy, which means we only offer therapy that has been shown to be effective for other people. We use the NICE guidelines to help guide us on what we offer, and we match and adapt the guidelines to help support the people we work with.

We are passionate about making sure we are culturally sensitive. A lot of therapies were designed to suit people in a Western context. This doesn't mean they can't be useful for everyone - they can! This just means therapy needs to be adapted and that is something My Calm Therapy prioritises. We make sure we get to know you as an individual, understand your family and culture, and make sure we always remain compassionate about your individual circumstances.

We are both also trained in systemic practice, which means we know how to work with families, couples, and even organisations to help bring about positive change. This can be helpful if the difficulty you are facing is around relationships or communication, and you want to work on this with the other person or people. For example, we often hold consultations with whole families or teams so that everyone can be involved in the session. If this is something you feel may help you, please get in touch, and we would be happy to discuss this further.

Where is My Calm Therapy Based?

My Calm Therapy is currently based online. We have found this is the best way to give our clients flexibility to find space for therapy. We make sure we always build a strong therapeutic relationship with you so that you can make the most of our online sessions.
